Figuring out what's true and what is a lie has nerver been easy.It is, however, possible.
Stick to the basics:
1. Both sides of an argument are not always equal: beware of false-equivalencies
2. Simpler explanations are, other things being equal, generally better than more complex ones (Occam's Razor)
3. "Follow the money" (Mark 'Deep Throat' Felt) - determine who profits and who looses
4. Distinguish fact from opinion ... and distraction
5. "Trust AND Verify" (Ronald Reagan)
6. "Beware the Military-Inductrial Complex" (Dwight Eisenhower)
